Birth Doula Support
Are doulas only helpful for those planning an unmedicated birth?
Not at all. Doulas provide education, encouragement, and advocacy for all birthing individuals—regardless of whether they choose an unmedicated birth or plan to use pain medication. Your doula is experienced in all forms of birth, including vaginal, cesarean sections, vaginal birth after a cesarean, induction, and water birth.
Every parent and every birth is unique. A doula’s role is to support your goals, help you make informed decisions, and ensure you feel confident and cared for throughout your birth experience.
Birth Doula Support – $1,200
As your birth doula, my goal is to provide continuous, personalized support throughout your pregnancy, labor, and early postpartum experience. This includes:
Prenatal Visit
One 60-minute prenatal visit where we’ll discuss your birth preferences, answer questions, explore comfort measures, and begin building a supportive connection.
Labor Support
Once labor begins, I join you when you feel ready for support. I can come to your home during early labor to help you stay comfortable and confident before transitioning to your birthing location.
For planned inductions, we’ll discuss the best timing for me to join you at the hospital.
I remain by your side throughout active labor and delivery, offering continuous physical, emotional, and informational support. After your baby arrives, I stay for 1–2 hours to assist with immediate postpartum needs, including initial feeding support.
In the event of a labor extending beyond 24 hours, I may call on a trusted backup doula for a short break. This will always be discussed in advance, and you’ll have the opportunity to meet the backup before your birth, if desired.
Postpartum Follow-Up
Approximately one week after your birth, I’ll visit you at home to reflect on your experience, answer questions, and offer referrals or resources for newborn care and recovery as needed.
